Explanation
Dungeon Difficulty in Grand Chase is measured by 3 settings "normal", "hard", and "very hard". The star system you see above the ranking shows what difficulty you've completed the dungeon on. For example, if you've beaten a dungeon on very hard mode, all 3 stars will be lit up. The harder the setting, the tougher the monsters will be and the more attributes they will have, but the more loot they will also drop.
1 star = Normal
2 star = Hard
3 star = Very Hard
You unlock harder levels by beating the dungeon on a lower rating. For example, if you beat the dungeon 'Xenia Border' on "normal", you would then be able to challenge it on "hard", however, you may not challenge it on "very hard" until you've beaten it on "hard". Once you unlock and beat a dungeon on very hard, you will unlock Champion Mode for that dungeon. Trial Forest and Trial Tower do not have champion modes as they are far too weak. To unlock additional stages in this game, you must first beat the dungeon before it on normal or higher.
Example: In order to unlock Orc Temple you must beat Kerrie Beach on normal or higher.
Gaining experience may be capped by level. For instance, a level 6 character in Orc Temple will not gain as much experience as level 12 character on the same run. Experience is also affect by the number of players in the dungeon at a time.
You can tell what places are most appropriate for your current level/character by the coloring of the levels below the dungeon itself.
'Gray' = Low leveled dungeon (reduced exp/bad exp)
'Green' = Perfect level dungeon (Gain exp at normal rate, same level as your character)
'Yellow' = Higher level dungeon (Best exp gain, slightly harder than perfect level dungeons)
'Red' = Too High level dungeon (Bad exp gain, dungeon level is too high for character)
You may enter another player's room at a higher star than you have unlocked, but you cannot host that star level until you have unlocked it yourself. Also, you can get to a dungeon you have not already unlocked if the host change the dungeon setting without leaving the room; you will not be able to re-access this dungeon until after you have unlocked the appropriate path to it.
