Miscellaneous

  • Otto - also "auto", short for automatic. 'Otto' is the specific abuse of a game glitch in which the player abuses a series of buttons to attack and skip any recovery time between their next attack. This is often seen with melee classes who use platforms to repetitively hit with their jump attack while maintaining their stance on the platform.
  • Solo - Doing a dungeon by yourself
  • Rush - Taking the shortest route from start to boss in a dungeon.
  • Full - Completing every room in the dungeon.
  • Champ - Champion Mode
  • Lag - Lag or "latency" is the time it takes a packet of information to travel between your computer and a remote computer (another player, for example). Many things can influence the amount of latency to another player, such as connection quality, weather conditions, and ISP network load, all of which are a factor on each end of the connection. Physical distance between players can also have a detrimental effect on latency; electrical signals move at the speed of light (slower through metal wiring, actually), and even light only moves so fast.
    • Contrary to popular belief, latency to the main NAGC server in California has little to no effect on multiplayer dungeon and PvP rooms. Grand Chase operates on a Peer to Peer system; that is to say, when the Start button is pressed in a room, the game connects the players to each other for the fastest possible game updates. The amount of latency between players is entirely dependent on the factors above from that point on.
  • Delay - Often mistaken for lag, delay is an entirely different issue. Delay occurs when being struck by an enemy, or when a character skill is used. During this brief moment, attack animations of characters are slowed down, leaving them open to combos, grabs and skills.
  • GC - Grand Chase (abbreviation)
