What They Are

Missions are objectives that a player can complete for a number of rewards, for example, extra Experience Points, GP, items, or even new Jobs for a character.
The mission inventory, where missions are stored, appears in the top-right corner of the screen, signified by a scroll icon. Clicking on the scroll will result in a drop-down menu from which you can identify and receive more detailed information about a certain mission.

Example: The GP mission to unlock the character, 'Zero'.

Types Of Missions

New Level Missions: These missions appear in a character's mission inventory when a new level is earned, or when a mission previously gained by a new level is completed, resulting in another objective.
The rewards from these missions range from extra Experience Points to new items for a character.

Joint Missions: These missions appear in a character's mission inventory after a player has completed a certain mission, for example, the three-part mission assignments for unlocking a 4th Job for a character.
Usually it entails participating in PvP combat, or collecting items from specified dungeons.
Be careful, as if you delete a mission that leads to a "Completion" Mission, then you won't get the next part.

Character Missions: These missions are bought in the Shop, under the Academy Tab. They can be purchased with either GP or Cash points, and are used to unlock extra characters.
The missions purchased with Cash points are substantially easier. To see these missions, see the appropriate character page.
You must accept the Mission from your inventory before it appears in your Mission List.

Job Obtainment Missions: These missions are bought in the Shop, under the Academy Tab. Be sure to change your character on the bottom right to see their related Job Obtainment Mission.
These missions can be purchased with either GP or Cash points, and are used to unlock new Jobs for your existing characters.
The missions purchased with Cash points are substantially easier. Currently, the highest number of jobs for a character is four, including the starting profession.
You must accept the Mission from your inventory before it appears in your Mission List.
Consult the appropriate profession page if you want to see this mission.
WARNING: If you accidentally delete the other 2 parts of a 4th Job Mission, then it will not let you register the re-bought scroll. You will have to send a 1:1 Support, and start over.

Event Missions: These missions are given out during specified events hosted by SGi, usually received by players upon logging into a server.
The rewards given out by these missions range from new accessories to extra sets of armor for your characters.

Note: You can do a higher difficulty for a dungeon and monsters will still drop their quest item. For example, a 1* mission can be done on 3*.

Quest Monsters

Quest Monsters will have an icon next to them, making them stand out. It shows that the monster has a chance of dropping a quest item.
The icon will show when either you or your party members have a Quest Monster in the dungeon.
If said party member is disconnected from the game, the icons will still be in place for the dungeon run.
When you have killed a quest monster, a popup notification will occur.

By pressing the tab button while in a dungeon, a quest items checklist will popup.
If you are in the wrong dungeon, or the wrong difficulty, there will be no checklist.

Tip: A common practice done by players is to exit the dungeon once a mission has been completed. Doing so ends the dungeon quickly while keeping the quest items.

Note: All Dungeons have an effect towards Drop Rates on missions.
For example, there is a mission requiring "Sorcery Staffs" from Kastulle Ruins Lower Floor
The monsters will keep dropping the quest items until a certain limit has been reached. (e.g 19/20 Staffs).
When this limit has been reached, the current monsters will not have the quest items, which will drop from another location in the dungeon.
What you should do is find the other location of where the quest item drops, often the other path or optional side rooms.
This is called "Dungeon Mobbing Sequence".
For Job Advancements, none of these will apply because they are all drop randomly from every monster (except for the 4th Job of course).
